Stellenzicht - Acheulean Red 2019

Stellenzicht Acheulean Red is a beautifully crafted Bordeaux-style blend that showcases the depth, elegance and complexity for which Stellenbosch is renowned. Named after the ancient Acheulean stone tools discovered on the estate, this flagship wine reflects both the rich history of the land and the meticulous craftsmanship behind every vintage.

Deep ruby in colour, the nose is layered with aromas of blackcurrant, ripe plum and dark cherry, intertwined with notes of cedar, graphite, tobacco and sweet spice from careful oak maturation.

The palate is rich and beautifully structured, revealing concentrated dark fruit, fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity, all leading to a long, elegant finish with remarkable balance and finesse.

Powerful yet refined, the Acheulean Red is an exceptional food wine, pairing beautifully with roast lamb, beef fillet, venison, slow-braised short ribs, and mature hard cheeses. While approachable in its youth, it has excellent ageing potential and will continue to develop greater complexity over the coming decade.
