Maison Wessman - Originel - Rosé 2024
Originel Rosé
A vibrant, characterful rosé from Vignoble des Verdots, made predominantly from Malbec with a touch of Merlot and grown on heavy clay-limestone soils over Castillon limestone. Directly pressed and fermented in temperature-controlled tanks, it has a delicate salmon hue and an enticingly fresh, slightly saline nose of ripe strawberries and raspberries. The palate is lively and mouthwatering, with juicy red-berry fruit, a subtle hint of cinnamon and a lovely sense of tension, finishing with elegant roundness. Fresh, expressive and just a little bit spicy.
Grapes: 85% Malbec, 15% Merlot
Style: Dry, vibrant and expressive rosé
ABV: 12.5%
Appellation: AOP Bergerac
Drink: Best enjoyed well chilled within the year
Food pairing: Perfect for aperitifs and tapas, grilled vegetable antipasti and marinated prawn skewers. Delicious with tomato and burrata salad, citrus salmon tartare or herb-roasted chicken, and surprisingly good with cinnamon rolls.
